It's always so interesting to take an existing structure and try to restore it to its original state, only better. The practice recently took on a public works project-- renovating and remodeling the Islip Fire Department. By upgrading the mechanical systems and changing the windows, the building will hopefully become more energy efficient. The windows, supplied by Florence Building Supply, will match the existing design to keep in line with the building's aesthetic character, as will the new stucco finish. Better yet, the bell tower will once again house an actual bell.
